About Me

Here's me in 2010 riding in South Carolina
My name is Matt Townsend and I'm 25 years old. Seems like I've gotten to do a little bit of everything in my short time here on earth, most notably spending my childhood on the road racing motocross. Turning pro when I was 17 years old, it seemed liked everything was going my way. Only one year later though, injuries resulted in me having to give up the sport I loved the most, and forcing me to get a regular 9-5 job. Needless to say, it was quite a transition for me. I spent 9 months in a program call South Carolina School of Leadership, which I would reccommend every high school/college graduate attend before entering the real world. After SCSL I settled into my 9-5 desk job and ordinary life as an adult. After 3 years and one mortgage later I realized that it just wasn't the life for me, at least not at this time in my life. So in june of 2010 I quit my job, put my house up for rent, and pursued a career as a journeymen pipe welder. It took a year and a half before getting a job as a welder, and another year and a half before hitting the road and becoming a real "Journeymen". This blog is about my life on the road and some of the things I enjoy spending my time doing.
